Stephen Headdy, CPA
Stephen's public accounting experience focused on both tax compliance and tax consulting services. This includes preparing tax returns, advising clients on income tax accounting considerations (e.g., accounting for uncertain tax positions, deferred tax analysis, and other ASC 740 matters), calculating Federal and State Research and Development Tax Credits, providing Internal Revenue Service Controversy Services including Examination and Appeals Support, and advising clients on Meals & Entertainment deductibility. In his most recent role as an experienced Manager, he focused on developing and tailoring customized work plans which strategically highlight and maximize a taxpayer’s R&D claim, particularly with large public and private companies.

Stephen has experience across a wide range of industries but has devoted a significant portion of his time assisting clients in the Life Sciences, Software/ Technology, and Manufacturing space. Stephen began his career at Crowe in the Indianapolis office before joining PwC in their Chicago office. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana University.
Patrick Mulroy, CPA
Patrick's public accounting experience has focused primarily on tax consulting services. Patrick started his career at PwC as a Credits and Incentives consultant where he specialized in the calculation of Federal and State R&D Tax Credits. With experience in two United States markets, Midwest and Southwest, Patrick was selected for the prestigious Digital Accelerator. While in this program, he spent months training and enhancing skills in computer programming, automation robots, and artificial intelligence. In 2019, Patrick joined a boutique R&D Tax Consulting firm in Houston, Texas where he has dedicated a significant amount of time to serving small- and medium-sized clients as well as start-up firms. Patrick has significant experience defending R&D Tax Credit claims selected for review in IRS audits. His efforts resulted in the successful defense and retention of 100% of the credit amounts challenged.
Patrick has experience across a wide range of industries but has devoted a significant portion of his time assisting clients in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction, Software/ Technology, and Manufacturing space. He graduated from Marquette University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with majors in both Accounting and Operations and Supply Chain Management.
